1. Commander’s Comments:
Over the reporting cycle, 1FURY completed Operational Readiness
Survey (ORS), Deployment Readiness Cage changeover, and block leave
sign out in preparation for Immediate Response Battalion-1 (IRB-1)
assumption on 07 December 2020. Companies also completed alibi
tasks for IRB-1 assumption last week while conducting a deliberate
block leave close-out, to include formally establishing the
Rear-Detachment. Additionally, The Battalion conducted an internal
conditions check for the Army Contingency Force Company (the ready
Company within IRB-1) with enablers as a final conditions check
prior to block leave sign-out. Looking ahead, the Battalion will
complete block leave next week and conduct COVID screening during
sign-in in accordance with all Division and Brigade established
protocols. Delta Company will conduct their Table XII platoon
gunnery on Range 63 from 07-11 December.
Unbeatable LGOPs: POTW
SGT Henry Guarcas of
Colton, California and SPC Anthony Robinson of Columbus, OH, earned
their Expert Field Medical Badge on 17 November. SPC Robinson serves
as a line medic with Charlie Company and has consistently proven
himself as a competent and enthusiastic member of the team. SGT
Henry Guarcas serves as 1Fury’s Treatment NCOIC. He earned this
position by demonstrating superior knowledge, competency and work
ethic. Both soldiers earned their EFMB after two weeks of intense
Skill Testing to include weapons knowledge and proficiency, medical
treatment, casualty evacuation and casualty care, culminating in a
12 Mile Foot March. Both soldiers will be taking their tested and
proven knowledge back to their companies, ensuring that the
paratroopers in their care remain fit and ready to –GET IN THE
FIGHT-
