1. Commander’s Comments:
Over the reporting cycle, 1FURY Paratroopers took advantage of managed leave to prepare for IRF assumption. Rear detachment received the Battalion back from leave and benefited from Medical support from across the BCT at the Consolidated Screening Site. The Battalion assumed IRB-1 at 0930 on Monday upon returning from Leave. Currently, our Delta Company is conducting Table XII platoon gunnery at R63 while the Battalion Staff participates in the Brigade Fires Coordination Exercise at the Mission Training Center. Moving forward, the Battalion will focus on JRTC pack-out and inspections during the half-day schedule in preparation for load-out operations beginning the first week of January.

SPC Ford Fetzer is from Lake Charles, Louisiana and serves as a Team Leader in 2nd Platoon, Delta Company. Since returning from deployment, SPC Fetzer has acted in a Squad Leader role, Team Leader role and led his crew during Gunnery. He has the additional responsibility of being in charge of running motorpool operations and ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained and the paperwork is always taken care of appropriately. As a result of his hard work and dedication, SPC Fetzer was selected above his peers to become promotable and attend BLC. SPC Fetzer’s work ethic and leadership have made him an incredible asset to Delta Company.
