WALLACE C. JUDD

Grave marker for Wallace C. Judd in Plot: Section 43, Site 2277 of the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington (Arlington county), Virginia.

Wallace enlisted in the Army at Richmond, VA on 12 January 1943 and became a member of Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 508th PIR.

Pvt Judd was wounded in action on 26 June 1944 and returned to duty on 19 July.  He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantryman Badge for action during the Normandy, France Campaign, 6 June 1944 to 9 July 1944.  He was also awarded the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for his participation in the Normandy assault.

He was promoted to Corporal on 1 October 1944 and was awarded the Silver Star Medal on May 15, 1945 [read citation]
