following: "It was whilst my father was in the POW camp that [he] met a
fellow prisoner and they struck up a friendship - chatting through the
wire fencing, I understand!
They shared the same birthday and unbeknownst to my
father this Polish man was secretly fashioning a piece of airplane wing
he'd found into a cigarette box. He made it with a stone and sharp nail
incredibly! So the man gave my father the box on 'their' birthday!
I keep the box on my coffee table in my father's memory -
as you can see with his dog-tags and plenty of hearts, |
