Chaplains To Jump with Soldiers
CAMP BLANDING, Nov. 29. (A.P) The two chaplains of the
508th parachute infantry at Camp Blanding are preparing to do everything
that troops do, even to jumping, They are Lieut. James L. Elder, 24.
of New Orleans, a Protestant, and Lieut. Ignatius Maternowski, 30, of Holyoke,
Mass., a Catholic. Both volunteered to act as spiritual leaders for the
sky soldiers because they thought they could do the most good there.

Aeronautic Program
CHERAW S C Aug 5 — A program of aeronautics will be given at Cheraw State park Sunday afternoon by the officers' club of the 508th Parachute regiment from Camp Mackall. Interesting stunts will be performed and a surprise program is included in the plans according to R H Rowe superintendent of the park.

Ernest
W. Raeuchle Is Promoted To Captain
Lieut. Ernest W. Raeuchle, 508th Parachute Infantry, stationed
at Camp Blanding, Fla., has been promoted to the rank of captain.
He was formerly instructor in the parachute school at Fort Benning, Ga.,
and is the son of Mr. and Mrs.. Frederick Raeuchle, 914 Eighteenth street.
His wife is the former Miss Lillian Overdorf, Camp Hill, and they have two
children, Sandra Lynn and Kurt Randall Raeuchle.
Mr. and Mrs.. Frederick Raeuchle and another son, Dr. Randall R., have
returned home after a visit at Camp Blanding.
