"H0ME AGAIN"
•• It won't be long
now, boy! No more of this G. I. stuff for me. When I
feel like doing something, I'11 just go ahead and do it. And, nobody can say anything about it
either!!
•• If I want to go to a show, I'11 just simply go to that show, that's all. No more sweating a pass out of the
old man and 1st Sergeant. No more having to buck up an "A" uniform
and work my head off trying to put a shine on those GI shoes.
No more having to show those dog tags, a short haircut, a
V-Packet to get off the company street.
No more signing out and signing in. No more bed-check. No more
standing in line for a place on that crowded old GI bus of a
6 X 6. No more shoving your way through mob of Doggies for a
ticket to hang your cheeks on a beat up old backless bench for a couple
of hours,. No more GI catcalls, hoots, and howls every time the film breaks.
No more hustle and bustle through that angry horde of male humanity all surging to
get out the one exit en-mass. No sir!!
From now on when I feel like going I just
go!
.. all I have to do is pick the one I like and take off! Of course I'11
ask my wife, Mary, to go along. Its not really not much fun to go to
go a show by yourself. It won't be very hard to decide which theatre to
attend because Mary will know which has the best show in town. She'11
know right awav whether we can go somewhere that has an added attraction--like Bank Nite, A Free Door Prize, or a Bingo Game.
.. Mary will make sure that I wear the right clothes too.
You know, when you have been away from home for several years
you may not realize
any more that
it does make a difference just how you dress when you see a show.
We might just happen to run into Bill and Dot Jones somewhere, and
if they suggest
that we join them for a party after the show
show, I'd certainly like to be dressed for
it. My Mary a1ways thinks of all those things so there's never any fear about my
being dressed correctly.
I'11 probably order a taxi to take us
down to the theatre.
