LOCATION OF 82ND AIRBORNE C.P.'s 1944-1945
from the notebook of Rex Combs, Co A)

Although we do not know exactly when Rex Combs made the various notations, he kept a record of the locations where the 82nd Airborne Division Command Posts (CP's) had been situated, by date.  He may have completed this log while catching his breath at Frankfurt right after the war ended

The 82nd AB engaged the German 77th Infantry Division, 91st LL (Luftlandivision), 709th Infantry Division and 243rd Infantry Division in combat and they were declared destroyed by the end of the Normandy campaign.  The destruction of the 91 LL and 243 ID was directly attributed to the 82nd AB actions.
