Pvt John Judy Now
In Combat Training
with 508th Paratroops

   Pvt John L. Judy is now a member of the 508th Parachute Infantry, in combat training at Camp Mackall, N. C.  His parents (family) Mrs. Irene Judy, reside at 208 N. Third street, Lewisburg.   He joined the Army Nov. 25, 1942 and won his wings as a United States parachutist on March 12, 1943.  Before entering the service he studied at Lewisburg, Pa. and worked at E. G. Budd Co., Philadelphia, Pa.
   The 508th Parachute Infantry, made up of trained jumpers, recently returned to camp from airborn [sic] maneuvers in the field.  The commanding general, impressed by its "excellent showing," commended the "spirit and discipline shown at all times by the men, in spite of inclement weather, fatigue, loss of sleep and hunger."  The 508th is commanded by Colonel Roy E. Lindquist, 36, West Point Class of '30 and a pioneer parachutist.

Staff Sergeant Marcel A. Wenzell, former student at San Mateo Junior college and son of Mrs. Madeline Wenzel, Box 388, Belmont, now is a member of the 508th parachute infantry in training at Camp Mackall, North Carolina.
   He joined the army last November and won his wings as a parachutist in March. Before entering he service he was an employee of Barrett and Hilp, contractors.

[Jumpmaster note: we don't know whether John recovered his wallet but we do know this ad ran for a full month, so perhaps not, especially since his surname appeared as Sivity vs.. Sivetz.]
