1st Lt Lloyd L. Polette, Jr. receiving the Distinguished Service Cross (DSC) from General Berenton.
   Polette was a Pathfinder who jumped on D-Day with men on Aircraft Chalk 17.  He also received the Solver Star with OLC, Bronze Star Medal and the British Military Cross
   Unfortunately
, he was wounded in action on January 21, 1945, just two days after he received the DSC, and died the following day,
