Allan H. Stein wearing a borrowed uniform blouse. Date and location unknown
H. Stein date and location unknown. Allan enlisted in the Navy in
December 1942 but was medically discharged five months later.
Determined to serve, he enlisted in the Army in August 1943 and was
assigned to the 63rd Div. Field Artillery.
He volunteered for parachutist duty in January 1944 and after
completing jump school he sailed for Europe in May 1944.
Once he was in England, he was assigned to the 508th, Service
Company. In October he was transferred to Co F and went into
Holland as a replacement.
In Belgium he was twice wounded and sent to Paris General Hospital.
He suffered complete loss of hearing in his left ear and has weak
hearing in the right ear.
Theodore E. Stoddard Ted officially changed his name to
Theodore E. LeFree in July 1943.
