Jim Smith and Rock Merritt co-hosted the 1977 reunion
which was held from September 9 through 11, 1977. A total of
358 attended the affair and represented 71% of the
then-identified regiment veterans.
Rock's XVIII Corps Commander, General Volney Frank
Warner was the guest speaker.

 The
Bordeaux Motor Inn and Convention Center later became the Holiday
Inn Bordeaux and is known today as the
Ramada Plaza by Wyndham.No matter the name,
the 1977 508th
Association reunion was the first to be held at this venue but it
was far from the last.
While the original association hold but one event
here, it's successor, the Family & Friends of the 508th PIR
Association, has held three reunions here to date (2008,
2013 and 2017) and will
return in 2019, |
