BASEBALL

 TIGERS STILL LEAD: The American League pacing Detroit team handed the Cleveland Indians a 5 to l trouncing yesterday. This just about clinches Detroits hold on the American League pennant.

CUBS AND CARDS IN PHOTO FINISH: In the National League the Chicago Cubs trailed the St. Louis Cards up to the seventh, at this point the Cubs pulled a four run rally finishing with s close win: Cubs 6 Cards

GIANTS KNOCKED OUT OF FIRST DIVISION At New Yorks Polo Grounds, a frisky Dodger team galloped gaily to a 7 to 4 victory over the Giants. All Giant hopes of finishing in the first division are now KAPUT.

"We regret that through technical difficulties we were unable to secure a full resume of scores, but by tomorrow we should have overcome this."

 

YANKEES CRUSH STEELERS
A strong Boston Yankee team crushed the Pittsburgh Steelers 28 to 7, in a game which the Yanks showed a powerful combination ground plays plus a clicking aerial attack.

Patton ordered to report to Eisenhower on his stewardship of Bavaria. This follows hot on the heels of Pattons newspaper statements of September 24. (Pattons statement was flat footed for fraternizing and the continuing of minor Nazi officials in office).

17, 000 NAZI'S;
Berlin: General Clay announced that 17,000 Nazi's had been picked up in the American Zone, this is an excellent rebuttal that American Occupation troops were being too easy with the Germans.

All men interested in forming a small band or string group, please come to the Library, Room 18, Starboard side, Aft today at 1500. Trumpets, clarinet, alto sax, drums, guitar, mandolin, piano accordion and fifty orchestrations are available.
