508TH IN SINAI NEWSLINE (3)
Pfc. Brian T. Gillespie, son of Kathleen L. Gillespie of Hernando, Fla., and Elwood B. Gillespie of Margate, is a member of the 2nd Battalion, 508th Infantry, Fort Bragg, N.C., participating in the multi-national peace-keeping force and observers as the primary U.S. military contingency in the Sinai. The unit will be the third U.S. contingent to serve with the MFO, replacing the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry of Fort Campbell, Ky.

Pfc. Thomas S. Schanke is a member of the 2nd Battalion, 508th Infantry, Ft. Bragg, N.C., participating in the multi-national peace-keeping force and observers as the primary U.S. military contingent contingent in the Sinai.
   He is the son of Victor and Alyce Schanke of 1600 Coolidge St., New Holstein.
   The mission of the airborne unit is to operate check points and observation posts and conduct reconnaissance patrols along the Sinai peninsula. The peninsula is located on the southeast shores of the Mediterranean Sea and extends from the Suez Canal to Israel and south from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea.
   Schanke i a 1982 graduate of New Holstein High School.

   Cpl Kevin A. Gorton of Old W. Main st., Trumansburg, is a member of the 2nd Battalion, 508th Infantry of Fort Bragg, N.C., which is participating in the multi-national operation in the Sinai peninsula.

Clinton R. Brown of Sidon, is in the Sinai in the Middle East, helping keep the peace between Israel and Egypt. He's a member of the 2nd Battalion, 508th Infantry of Fort Bragg, N.C., which is participating in the multi-national operation in the Sinai peninsula.

First Sgt. Norris Jones, husband of the former Jacqueline Bennett and son of Johnie M. Jones, Brownsville, is a member of the 2nd Battalion, 508th Infantry, Infantry, Fort Bragg, N.C., participating in the multi-national peace-keeping force and observers as the primary U.S. military contingent in the Sinai. The unit will be the third U.S. contingent to serve with the MFO, replacing the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry of Fort Campbell, Ky.
