BBC website features moves from Capt BILL NATION
The BBC has created two websites with links to streaming video
of Capt NATION'S 8mm movies shot during his stay in England with the 508
during WWII. The URLs (those long, gobbledygook internet addresses) are too
long and complex to present here, but for the readers wanting to see the
website, do a "Google" search for "Capt NATION," and one of the results
will be the site for footage shot in Nottingham. That site will have a link
to another site (located under "On this site-Derby in '44") with footage of
Derby also shot by Capt. NATION. Good friend of the 508, TONY ROGERS (who
lives in Hemel Hempstead), points out the websites mentioned also have
links to telephone interviews (broadcast over BBC radio) made with the
author of this column regarding the film.
Support 508 Website
IRV SHANLEY recently wrote and proposed there be an effort made to
help DICK O'DONNELL, creator of the official 508 PIR website (508pir.org),
defray costs associated with creating and maintaining the tremendous site
DICK has created to honor and remember the 508 PIR and its many soldiers.
Readers who wish to contribute to DICK's efforts may reach him at:
