Clarisse's Letter

John

Merci

John

Wednesday, June 5, when we visited the cemetery American our guide told us of your life, [your] short life.

That's how we learned that at midnight you dropped [with] your friends having been instructed to prevent the German reinforcements from arriving.

You were certainly a handsome boy gifted with a great intelligence forced enlist in the Army as a paratrooper. That had the be heartbreaking for you to leave your family, but you held 2 days.

This is
why today, we will say thank you and with other young parachutists, have given their lives to save the Freedom of a country other than your own.

Thank you
