SPARTANBURG Oct 91— Fred
E. Gillespie Wofford senior from Walhalla has been named cadet Lieutenant
' Colonel commanding the battalion in the college military department
according to an announcement made by Lieutenant Colonel Charles . Loughlin,
head of the college military organization.
Colonel Loughlin also announced the appointment of R L Epps Sumter
as Major Executive and Jennings B Livingston of Wofford as Captain Adjutant,
Arthur B Hammond Spartan burg has been assigned the position of Captain
Commander of the R O T C Band

SPARTANBURG, Nov. 1.---
Fred E. Gillespie, Wofford senior from Walhalla, has been named Lieutenant
Colonel, commanding the battalion in the college military department,
according to an announcement made by Lieutenants Colonel Charles C.
Loughiin, P. M. S. T. Gillespie, who is one of Wofford's outstanding
seniors, is also captain in the Scabbard and Blade, honorary military
leadership fraternity. He was highly praised by his company officers
at camp this summer. Colonel Loughiin also announced the appointment
of R. I. Epps, of Sumter as major, executive, and Jennings B. Livingston
of Woodford as captain, adjutant. Epps was awarded the Master Cadet
medal for his outstanding work at camp this summer. Livingston also
has a very good military record at Wofford.
Arthur B. Hammond, Spartanburg, has been assigned the position of captain,
commander of the R. O. T. C. band.
