 Ken 'Rock' Merritt

President of the 508th Association welcomed his comrades and recalled the days when many of them had been trained at Blanding.
His comments regarding what it felt like to be a "lowly, lonely Private" brought gales of laughter.  Rock survived basic training, jump school and the war.  He served 30 years in the Army and retired as a Command Sergeant Major.
