Appreciation Plaque
is given to Blanding's Museum Historic Society Association President Roland Hall

Retirement Ceremony Benediction
was given by Chaplain LTC Jim M. Fogle-Miller

Benediction

To the Great Jumpmaster, who is able to keep us from falling, we make our prayer.
Let the memory of all those who have made their last jump, and the memories of this day, strengthen these assembled airborne soldiers.
Send them forth confident today, as they were when they left Camp Blanding so long ago.
When they face their final jump, that leap into your presence,
Make them bold to go through that door, as they were at D-Day and Market Garden.
Be their pathfinder through all the time which lies ahead. Guide them to your presence, these Red Devils who served their time in hell.
Let the light of their courage, sacrifice, and determination so guide us that we one day stand with them, and with you, in the ranks of all those who have been born from above.
Go forth now with love of God as an open chute above you, the grace of God as a soft drop zone below you, and the power of God to guide you when you land.
Go in peace all you who once went to war. Well done, good and faithful soldiers. Airborne!!
Amen.

... and so ended the Odyssey of the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment
