Dear Mom

I received your letter a few days ago and was sure glad to hear from you. When I received it it happened to be raining. Your envelope that was enclosed got a little messed up but I’m going to try sending the letter in it anyway. I hope you receive it OK. Their isn’t much news around here. I’m not good at talking French so I just don’t get around much anymore. Thanks a million for writing 3 times a week your letter are about all I have left of any morale. So keep them coming. Every thing is going OK and I hope this letter find you all the same. So for now So long and write soon

PS You can send that pen any time. I’m badly in need of one. I happen to be using a German pen now that I picked up one on my travels. I will send you a list of stuff I need later on with money enclosed.
