1130 hour --- Verbal reports received from all units wee
that all front line COs had had enemy activity in their front line
defenses since dawn.
1130 hour --- Requested estimated loss reports from all Bns and Sep
units.
1200 hour --- One prisoner brought into S-2. He sated that he was a
member of the group that hd been to our front, which was a company. He
did not know where the balance of the bn. was.
1215 hour --- Contact made with the 101st at Baupte at 1045 hour, their
G-3 came through.
1240 hour --- S-2 received information regarding enemy identification
from prisoners/
1300 hour --- Five more prisoners received one a 1st Sgt.
1300 hour --- M/2 to 2d Bn. Contact the 1021 hourly at the bridge
at 314850, report contact to Regt. --- Co.
1400 hour --- Artillery played an important role in today's operations.
Concentrations laid down almost immediately on enemy whenever sighted.
1500 hour --- Losses for yesterday reported at 10 EM killed.
1601 hour --- Alerted that CP may move.
1630 hour --- Ov4erlay of CP move sent to 2d Bn.
1700 hour --- Installed mine field of 25 mines at 314851 -- Div.
Notified.
1700 hour --- To move to Chateau at 297880 in the vicinity of
Cretteville.
1715 hour --- Water DP at 297927.
1800 hour --- CP moved to Chateau at 297880/
1810 hour --- CP established.
1900 hour --- 1st Bn moving to chateau also. 2d Bn moving to LeVivier.
3d Bn moving into old Regt CP location.
2000 hour --- 3d Bn requesting relief for co i.
2100 hour --- Cp set up in large building previously used by the Germans
as a kitchen and canteen, reported that they had been in this location
for three years. They had defenses around this chateau dug well in.
2140 hour --- CO orders hat all units patrol very aggressively tonight,
reorganize. and prepare for an early attack.
2200 hour --- Crud furniture found in chateau, used for CP, well set up.
2250 hour --- Message to 2d Bn. Notify this Hq f bridge at 297851 is
demolished.
2305 hour --- Several rounds of time fired artillery fell in vicinity of
CP.
2400 hour --- Message from 2d Bn. Bridges at 297851 and 293858
demolished at 1835.

0030 hour --- M/1 to Div. G-1 report to Div.: captured 0;
killed: 10; missing 1; wounded, evacuated 13; wounded, not evacuated, 0;
prisoners 29; outlaws apprehend 0; strength 1234; date 14 June
1944.
0030 hour --- Demo blew bridge at Cretteville.
0100 hour --- Patrols and guards alerted.
0600 hour --- Weather clear and bright.
0643 hour --- M/2 to Div. Enemy vehicles reported abandon4ed at 2998752.
0800 hour -- Alerted for possible move.
8810 hour ----S-2 Periodic reports in from 1st, 2d and 3d Bns.
0850 hour --- S-4 in from rear train, reported that the balance of
seaborne echelon had arrived at the Rear Train.
0955 hour --- M/3 to Div. G-22 Periodic Report -- S-2.
1000 hour --- Enemy artillery still threatening CP.
1100 hour --- Div artillery firing on the enemy CP which must be
located in the church steeple in Cretteville.
1200 hour --- Chap Elder arrived in CP from seaborne
echelon.
1230 hour --- Chap Elder took a Catholic pastor (civilian) to the
cemetery.
1300 hour --- Quartering party fwd to pick out a new CP location, to be
west of Etienville.
1325 hour --- M/4 to Div. Interrogators report. -- S-2.
1400 hour --- CO out to div.
1430 hour --- Quartering part returned.
1440 hour --- S-4 retuned to Rear Train.
1600 hour --- Our CP to move when 507 comes in and relieves our
outposts, to be about 2300 hour.
1700 hour --- 508 to go into reserve for the 505, which is in the front
;line pushing toward St. Sauveur. The 507 to move into our positions.
1800 hour --- Troops prepared to move, vehicles lined up waiting for the
507.
2000 - CO in.
2100 hour --- Quartering part departed for new CP to prepare for troop
arrival.
2300 hour--- light rain falling.
2400 hour --- word received that the 507 would not arrive until early
morning.
