2230 hour --- Received letters of commendation from Gen. Montgomery.
2400 hour --- Weather occasional showers; morale excellent; strength 1150.
30 June 1944 0200 hour --- 1st Bn being relieved by units of the 508.
0740 hour  --- Gen Gavin in with CO.
0805 hour --- Gen Gavin out.
0830 hour --- CO out.
0845 hour --- Exec out to 1st Bn.
0945 hour --- Lt. Hager in from Div.
0945 hour --- G-3 Report from Div.
1055 hour --- Morning Reports in from 3d Gn.
1055 hour --- G-2 Reports in from Div.
1100 hour --- Shelter half per man to be drawn from Div.
1124 hour --- CO and CO 506 into Cp.
1155 hour --- Received the Div Recon Plan.
1300 hour --- Our Bn atchd to 505, 2d Bn 50-7 atchd to us.
1300 hour --- CO out.
1410 hour --- Adj and Hq Commandant out to look over new area.
1420 hour --- G-2 Periodic Report from Div.
1500 hour --- Lt. Hager out.
1645 hour --- CO 3 Bn in.
1700 hour --- CO in. Meeting of all Bn and Sep Units Commanders and Staff.
1750 hour --- Meeting over.
1805 hour --- Congratulatory letters from VO sent to all units.
1845 hour --- CO out to Bns.
1900 hour --- Lt. Hager in from Div.
2030 hour --- CO in. Reported that a jeep had gone thru our G Company road block down into enemy territory and run into mines.  Personnel in jeep were blown our, unable to send medics down to them.
2035 hour --- Lt. Hager out.
2130 hour --- Patrols were sent out to attempt to reach the jeep but were not able to.
2230 hour --- G-2 report to all units.
2400 hour --- Enemy situation light; weather rainy; morale excellent; strength 1151.
01 July 1944

0100 hour --- Situation quiet.
0800 hour --- Lt. Hager in with G-3 Periodic Report from Div.
0840 hour --- CO out.
0900 hour --- Exec. out to 1st Bn.
1000 hour --- Exec in.
1045 hour --- Catholic services at 1300 hour.
1100 hour --- CO in.
1300 hour --- No action, weather unsettled, cloudy.
1350 hour --- CO 1st Bn into S-3
1445 hour ... All units notified of church schedule for tomorrow.
1500 hour --- Lt. Schwank to the beachhead.
1510 hour --- 1st Sgts 3d Bn in checked rosters.
1600 hour --- Plans to send patrols out to 131 again tonight.
1640 hour --- CO out to 1st Bn.
1700 hour --- Lt. Hager out to Div.
1700 hour --- Adj of 1t and 3d Bns and the Exec Off of 2d Bn working on the recommendations for awards and promotions that had previously been submitted incorrectly.
1700 hour --- Exec out.
1830 hour --- Exec in.
2015 hour --- Adj to div.
2040 hour --- S-4 in.
2110 hour --- Adj in.
2200 hour --- No change, Duty officer  still to report to Div every other hour by phone.
2300 hour --- Raining moderately.
2400 hour --- Weather rainy; morale high; strength 1151.
