1920 hour --- M/6 to Div.  G-2-3-4 reports. -- S-2-3-4 reports
2000 hour --- Hosp from various hospitals SO received, helped account for a lot of our men.
2100 hour --- List of men KIA sent to Mr. Hamelin for names of beneficiaries..
2200 hour --- Estimated loss report sent to G-1.
2400 hour --- Yellow flare observed at 232848.
2400 hour --- Weather clear; morale excellent; strength 1155.
26 June 1944 0510 hour --- M/1 to S-2. Locations on map. -- Div..
0510 hour --- M/2 to CO.  Operations Memo #1. -- Div.
0730 hour --- 3d Bn staged a mock attack.
0800 hour --- No enemy action.
0845 hour --- 3 EM seriously injured in mock attack.
0950 hour --- Morning reports se4nt up Div.
0950 hour --- Shell reports sent in from 3d Bn.
1000 hour --- CO in from Bns.

1040 hour --- M/3 to CO.  G-2 Report. -- Div.
1040 hour --- Sent the above to all Bns.
1155 hour --- M/7 to 505.  Patrol report for night. -- CO
1200 hour --- Weather cloudy and rainy.
1300 hour --- S-4 in from Rear Train.
1400 hour --- CO out to all Bns.
1400 hour --- Chap to GRO meeting at Div.
1530 hour --- 3d Bn called for an ambulance, sent immediately.
1600 hour --- very little artillery being used.
1700 hour --- Co 2d Bn called into CP.
1810 hour --- Mail received, broke down and sent out.
2000 hour --- Received report that half of Cherbourg had fallen and street fighting in the other half f this city.
2140 hour --- G-2 and G-4 reports to Div.
2400 hour --- Weather cold and rainy; morale excellent; strength 1155.

 

27 June 1944 0025 hour --- 3 rounds of enemy artillery fire landed in the immediate area of the Regt CP. 1 Medical man injured.
0720 hour --- CG and Gen Gavin into CP.
0730 hour --- artillery observation plane crashed after being hit by a round of mortar fire from our 81 mm mortars.  Tail number 329632; coordinates 252895.; Obs 1st Kt. Wood, Chs. H,, O1181804; Pilot Lt McAninch, Robert R., O-117888.  Shell hit plane wing and exploded.
0815 hour --- CG and Gen Gavin out.
0840 hour --- CO out to 3d Bn.
0925 hour --- CO in.
0950 hour --- CO 2d Bn into CP.
1015 hour --- Meeting of staff.
1030 hour --- CO 2d Bn out.
1100 hour --- CO 3d Bn into CP.
1115 hour --- S-3 2nd Bn into VP.
1120 hour --- CO 3d Bn out.
1120 hour --- Report received by S-2 that Cherbourg had fallen.
1200 hour --- Weather clear.
1210 hour --- Morning reports taken to Div.
1426 hour --- M/1 to all Bns.  Resistance at Cherbourg ceased.-- CO
1505 hour --- Inventory of all weapons by 1700.
1430 hour --- Lt. Hager into div. From CP.
1600 hour --- 1st Sgts 1sd Bn into CP to check rosters.
1610 hour --- Lt. Geiger, Corps, in with Exec.
